BUSA Alumni Facebook Groups

Stay in touch with the friends you’ve made throughout your university sailing career and hear about opportunities that are coming up? These are dedicated groups for alumni for the BUSA regions that you have been part of.

RYA National Match Racing Series

A series of match racing events hosted around the country, culminates in a Grand Final in November. These include national competitions for Women, Youth, Schools and Students. Open qualifiers and a series of winter events designed to help sailors and officials learn about Match Racing.

British Keelboat Academy

The BKA is a training and networking programme designed to help young (18-25) dinghy racers transition in to yacht and keelboat racing. Applications open in August with training over winter leading to opportunities to join existing campaigns.

British Keelboat League

An inter-club competition hosted at various locations around the UK in provided keelboats. Racing is short and sharp (12 mins per race), with umpires on the water to ensure it is fair. No boat needed, just find some friends from your club

Sunsail Racing Series offers one design yacht racing onboard Sunsail's Match First 40s from March to November; competitive weekends of round the can racing, long coastal race and offshore courses.


First Mates Wanted

Work on the Sunsail fleet of 410s. You must be competent with spinnakers and work well in a team. Work will be on a freelance, self employed basis.

Rate of pay is £110 per day

Sailing Instructor needed in Thailand

Graduates only. Package includes a salary of £500/ month, accommodation, full board, flights, visa and permits. There is a £200 acceptance fee when you join + £1,600 Placement Fee.

Sail Martha’s Vineyard is NOW accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Season!

Sail MV has openings for RYA dinghy and windsurfing instructors, who are happy teaching all levels from beginners to high level racing. Sail MV is located on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, on the northeast coast of the USA, just 1 ½ hours away from Boston. The term of the employment will be for 9 weeks over the summer, running from the12th of June through the 13th of August, this will include one week of program setup and staff induction. Workweeks are generally 40 hours over a 5-day period. Successful applicants will receive an exceptionally competitive rate of pay along with free use of our equipment and accommodation right next to our center.
