The Calendar includes all BUCS-BUSA sailing events, relevant RYA and other events (including international) and programmes in which student sailors and teams regularly compete or participate (e.g. Keelboat Squad). The Calendar carries all university events hosted by BUSA Member Clubs (USCs) that are notified to us (inclusion is discretionary, but no other events are listed on the first or second weekend of November, which is reserved for the BUCS-BUSA Fleet Championships, see Calendar). Events for inclusion should be notified to the BUSA Secretary or by using the Contact Form.

After last year’s success, The Midlands Mixer will be returning!
Our very own coached event to kick the year off.
The Midlands Mixer will be hosted at Burton Sailing Club by Loughborough University Sailing Club in collaboration with the BUSA Midlands Area on the 19th/20th October 2019.
The Saturday will be a day of top quality race training by two coaches to be announced, followed by a one dayer team racing event on the Sunday. Please see Entry Form.
The event is aimed specifically towards freshers coming from a fleet racing background learning the ropes of team racing.
The price per team for the full weekend will be £250. Sunday’s one dayer can be purchased for £150 providing a rare opportunity to benefit from both coaching and umpiring in a relaxed atmosphere before the season begins in earnest.
Accommodation will be provided for both Friday and Saturday.
A Loughborough infamous social will, of course, take place on both days also. More details of food and social tickets to follow.

On the 30th November – 1st December the Brew takes place at Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club.
With two days of competitive team racing just before Christmas, the Brew is one of the biggest university team racing events in the South West.

BUSA, with Bournemouth Uni SC, would like to invite all teams to the South Central Area regional training at the end of the autumn semester. You can now register your interest to be the first to hear about the event here.
The aim of the event is to provide affordable and competitive inter-university race training to those teams that want to target the regional qualifiers, or improve their team racing technique, and give access to all teams to 2-3 top quality coaches, and the chance to tune up against your competitors.
Price: TBA, please register your interest in the meantime. Targeting £200-240 per team.
- Saturday will provide team race training bringing to scratch all your team's boat handling, manoeuvres and combinations ready for the competition season
- Sunday will give all teams the chance to pit their skills against one another in an umpired and coached mini-series; we'll run as many races as humanely possible and give out spot prizes

The annual Badger is a fun, sociable team racing event and a great way to start your 2020. With Qualifiers following soon after, it's perfect for competitive practise and to help prepare your team. As always, there will be socials throughout the weekend organised by Brunel, as well as easy access to central London for any plans you want to organise. Brunel sailing would be delighted to host any teams for a wonderful weekend full of friendly socials and expert sailing.
