Cardiff University Sailing Club sails at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club

Cardiff University Sailing Club sails at Cardiff Bay Yacht Club and welcomes anyone from complete beginners to experienced sailors. We aim to run sessions every Wednesday afternoon and some weekends too, dependent on the weather. For the more experienced sailors, we run 3 teams who compete in regular events including BUCS. We also run our own event, the Welsh Dragon. This event will take place on the 16th and 17th November 2024 and we welcome teams from all over the country. We are also involved with yacht racing and frequently use Cardiff Bay Yacht Club's fleet of 707s for cruising, fleet racing and match racing. This part of the club is rapidly expanding in 2024/25. For those who just fancy a sail, are new to sailing or want something a bit more relaxed, we also run a club session every Wednesday afternoon. We aim to do a mix of taught sessions where you can learn new skills and free sessions to do whatever you want. When we are off the water, we also organise weekly socials on Wednesdays with great themes and various fancy-dress nights. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow sailors and offers a mid-week break. If you would like any more information, please contact the relevant person below.
