Bids sought to host the 2021 Team Racing Championship events

BUSA are pleased to announce the opening of the 2020 bidding period, for events in the 2020/21 season, and welcome all member clubs to apply.

In response to the changeable situation in the UK surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing review of our Championship proposal by the BUCS Competitions Group, the bidding process will be adjusted this year to allow a greater degree of flexibility. Due to the anticipated plateau or reduction in the number of available qualified umpires and the restrictions this will place on our current Qualifier system, we will be running the Area Qualifiers over 2 weekends this coming season.

Please look carefully at the dates in the table below so you know which weekend your Area Qualifier will be held on. Although we are opening bidding for an Eastern Qualifier, to reflect the changes our members voted for in a majority, we will not know if the Championship structure can change before the end of August. If the proposal is not accepted by BUCS, the 2021 Qualifiers will be held across 5 areas (excluding Eastern Area), as has happened in previous years. All member clubs will compete in the area they were a member of in the 2019-20 season. Please take this into consideration when writing your bid. We anticipate the Trophy Final OR Playoffs to be held on the same weekend, as stated below. As such, we ask bidders for this event to be flexible and consider this when submitting a bid.

Due to COVID-19 meaning all Championship Finals were cancelled in 2020, CUCrC were offered the opportunity to host the Championship Final this coming season. They have accepted this offer and so bidding will not be opening for this stage of the Championships. All selected hosts will be updated on any changes in a timely and clear manner.

This bidding window running from the 6^th of July to the 14^th of August, will seek hosts for all stages of the Championship. The names and dates of each stage are stated below- please ensure you fill out the correct documentation to reflect the event you are applying for.

All bidding clubs are required to fill in the document associated with their chosen event;

• Team Racing Qualifiers Bidding Document 2020-21
• Team Racing Trophy Final (or Playoffs) Bidding Document 2020-21
• Notice of selection for BUCS Team Racing Championship Qualifier Bids 2020-21

Please ensure documentation is completed and returned to the BUSA Team Racing Officer by no later than 23:59 on 14^th August 2020.
