I would like to endorse Steves plea for Fireflies for the Team Racing Championships. Cambridge have a lot to do without the additional worry of sourcing boats at this stage in the runup to the event. As Steve says, to hire from non-university resources is going to bump the entry fee up, or run the riosk of cancelling the event. The boat issue has to be resolved one way or another within the next couple of weeks. If any university has a particular concern over the lending of boats, please get in touch with me as soon as possible, in the hope that it may be resolved. I managed to discuss this with one uni last weekend, and am hopeful that they will now lend their boats. Please put yourselves in Cambridge’s shoes. If you were running the event, I am sure you would wish to have the support of other universities. It is your event, and we would appreciate the use of your boats please.
