Senior BUSA officers met by conference call in conjunction with the Technical Delegates to discuss the feasibility of running the BUCS Team Racing Championship in Spring 2021.
Having considered the latest UK Government advice alongside the current guidance published by the Royal Yachting Association, the following decisions have been made:
Qualifiers
- 30/31 January 2021 (postponed until further notice on 16 December 2020) – Northern Qualifiers at DerwentReservoir – Update: CANCELLED
- 30/31 January 2021 (postponed until further notice on 16 December 2020) – Midlands Qualifiers at Notts CountySC – Update: CANCELLED
- 30/31 January 2021 (postponed until further notice on 16 December 2020) – Eastern Qualifiers at Grafham WaterSC – Update: CANCELLED
- 6/7 February 2021 (postponed until further notice on 16 December 2020) – Western Qualifiers at Chew Valley SC– Update: CANCELLED
- 6/7 February 2021 (postponed until further notice on 16 December 2020) – Southern Qualifiers at Oxford SC –Update: CANCELLED
- All Scottish leagues are also CANCELLED.
Playoffs
- 6/7 March 2021 – Championship Playoffs at Draycote Water SC – CANCELLED
Finals
- 5/6/7 April 2021 – Championship Finals at Grafham Water SC – CANCELLED
The BUSA committee has completed a membership consultation to help inform the possibility of running a revised Team Racing Championship. The membership voted for carrying out Regional Qualifiers in each region. Due to the current government and governing body guidance, this is deemed not feasible. The BUSA committee is currently looking at options and will communicate these with the membership as soon as possible. We remain optimistic that some form of event will be possible in Summer 2021.
