The RYA are holding a series of Open Keelboat Race Training events in 2007 and are looking for the next generation of up and coming sailors to get on board.  Open Keelboat Race Training events are a route for being selected into the Volvo RYA Keelboat Programme and provide the opportunity for sailors to brush up on skills and receive first class coaching in the RYA’s fleet of J80s.  These events cater for sailors of all race abilities.

Open Keelboat Race Training dates for 2007:

  • 12 – 14 February,  Queen Mary Sailing Club (Nr London)
  • 28 – 30 March, Queen Mary Sailing Club (Nr London)
  • 21 – 22 April, Royal Northern and Clyde YC, Scotland (Venue TBC)
  • 23 – 24 June, Royal Northern and Clyde YC, Scotland (Venue TBC)
  • 9 – 11 July, Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy
  • 28 – 30 August , Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy
  • 1 – 2 September, Plas Menai, Wales  

Selections: 10-12 September 2007, Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy (by invitation only) 

To reserve your place at an Open Keelboat Training event, please fill out the attached form

 To reserve you place on a training weekend there is a £40 entry fee, made payable to the RYA. Sailors are required to find their own accommodation, however it is advised that where possible, you stay at the centre/academy at which the training is being held. Food will be available to buy at or near the venue.
