Day 3 of the World University Match Racing Championships saw the tension mount as the final stages of the competition began. The British team had successfully qualified for the gold league (top 6 teams) come the morning and built on this today with wins against France and Italy.
A perfect onshore force 3-4 and sunshine greeted the competitors for the third day running, though when the Swedish broke their mast and a replacement Blusail 24 was unavailable racing for GBR was curtailed and they face tough matches tomorrow against USA, Croatia and Sweden.
